3D Laser Scan Manager

Regional Land Surveyors, Inc is looking to enhance and expand our 3D Laser Scanning services and is accepting applications for this unique opportunity for the right qualified candidate. Essential functions of this position includes project planning, performing office calculations/drafting and on-site 3D laser scanning, compiling, registering, and generating 3D models and project deliverables. The candidate will also perform field visits and training of developing employees.

Required Skills:
• 4 years of combined survey experience, or suitable combination of education and experience
• Must have working knowledge of survey practices and computations
• Experience working with Leica Scanner and software packages
• Comprehensive knowledge of survey equipment, and its operations
• Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 or later required
• Must possess HS Diploma or equivalent; Survey Degree a plus
• Exceptional attention to detail, with strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Must have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Requires a valid driver’s license to perform field site visits

Instrument Person

Required Skills:
Regional Land Surveyors is seeking qualified instrument operators for local and out of town work. A minimum of 2 years of experience in land surveying is required as well as a strong understanding of GPS and Conventional survey methods. Applicants should have experience with Carlson SurvCE data collection software (or similar software), GPS receivers, and conventional and robotic total stations. Out of town travel on a weekly basis may be required. Annual and random drug screening is required as well as pre-employment background check, and a satisfactory driving record.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word are a plus.

Crew Chief

Job Responsibilities: Communicate with RLS Project Managers to understand project roles and requirements. Lead 2 and 3 person survey crews while executing field surveys accurately and efficiently. Supervise survey crew members in proper surveying technique/equipment operations. Provide leadership in vehicle, instrument/equipment care and maintenance. Prepare thorough and accurate field notes.

Required Skills:
Technical Requirements: A survey crew chief employed with RLS must be an exceptional leader and proficient in all aspects of land surveying field work. A strong understanding of methods and standards, proper measurement, and both conventional and GPS equipment operation is mandatory. Experience performing numerous types of surveys including but not limited to boundary surveys, topographical surveys, control surveys, ALTA surveys, route and utility surveys and as-built surveys is required.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record 5 years survey experience 2 years crew chief experience. Proficient with conventional and GPS equipment. Proficient using laptop computers and data collection software. Availability to work out of town and some weekends required.
Desired Skills:
Pipeline route surveys, as-built surveys, 3D Laser Scanning, underground utility marking (utilizing passive frequency, inductive and direct connect locating equipment) and proficient with Microsoft Office.

CAD Tech

Required Skills:
A survey CAD Technician employed with RLS must posses good communication skills and be proficient in all aspects of land surveying. A strong understanding of industry standards and mapping requirements is mandatory and experience with numerous types of surveys including but not limited to boundary surveys, topographical surveys, control surveys, ALTA surveys, route and utility surveys and as-built surveys is required. Proficient with AutoCAD Civil3D
5 years’ experience in land surveying
2 years’ experience with surveying CAD
Demonstrate self-motivating and organizational skills
Desired Skills:
Experience using ArcGIS and other ESRI products
Terrestrial Lidar data processing with Leica software suite
Point Cloud modeling
Pipeline route and as-built survey experience
Associate degree or higher in surveying technology/geomatics or other related field and/or registration as a SIT
